    Funge is a staple in Angolan food, so go ahead and try our easy recipe today to create the perfect paring. It is naturally glutinous so don’t worry about the stickiness, it’s supposed to be like that. For a variation you can mix 1 cup of maize meal or semolina flour with the fufu and follow the same process. Serves 4

  • Ingredients:

    2 – 3 cups of fufu (cassava flour)

    4 cups water

  • Method:

    1. Bring 2 cups of water to boil in a medium pot.
    2. In a small bowl, use a whisk to beat the cassava flour with 2 cups of cold water until the mixture is smooth and consistent.
    3. Add this mixture to the boiling water, keep stirring well with a wooden spoon until the mixture is smooth.
    4. Reduce the heat and cover for 10 – 15 minutes.
    5. The Funge is ready when it has solidified slightly.
